Monica Jimeno Romero

I was born on March 18, 1971 in Madrid, although my roots are purely Extremadura.  

Since my childhood I loved the mixture of colors, textures, and as a good artist, all paper was good to capture my ideas. Every image, every smell or every moment was a good reason to paint, that is why during my academic training I always stood out in the plastic arts, although my parents did not realize where my future lay. While I was studying business management and administration, my desire for painting was growing. 

When I was only 18 years old, I set up my company and there I had my first experience in the world of painting, thanks to the fact that I discovered a manufacturer of raw furniture in which I could design its range of products through my paintings and sketches, it was a success “I started to paint, without stopping to create.”  

Due to a traumatic personal experience, I decided to believe myself and dedicate myself to what has really made me happy throughout my life “painting”. 

In 2007 I started my solo career collaborating with franchises throughout Spain, decorating their stores with murals and large-format artistic paintings until 2012.

2014 .- Espacio Sha Wellness Clinic. Alicante. Acquisition of works   for the institution. 

-2012 .- Casa Decor. Madrid. Collaboration with prestigious   decorators such as Marisa Gallo in the Hotel Boutique space and with the  Sevillian decorator Carmen Barasona in the Flower space in a large   mural. 

Awards: 

in 2021 selected ALFONSO X EL SABIO AWARD from September 10 to October 10 at the SAN CLEMENTE CULTURAL CENTER (TOLEDO) participant with the work: “My sweet lady”.

In 2021 selected for the SAN ISIDRO LABRADOR AWARD of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors. Participant with the work “San Isidro”.

In 2021 selected for the GOYA 275 ANNIVERSARY OF THE BIRTH AWARD. of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors. Participant with the play “I want to be free.”

In 2019 selected for the LEONARDO DA VINCI 500 ANNIVERSARY PRIZE of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors. Work that belongs to the collection ¨My journey from impressionism to modernism¨.
